Hoo Are You?

I'm playing along today at Night Owl Crafting. Come on over and join us!

NightOwlCrafting

Here are the questions this week.

1. Do you decorate for the 4th of July?
I sure do! The 4th of July is extra special at our house because it is Greg's birthday, also.

2. Do you you buy fireworks for the 4th of July?
Yes, a lot of them.
3. How do you celebrate the 4th of July?
That day is probably my favorite day of the year because all the kids come over early and we play and eat all day. The little ones do all the daytime fireworks and when it gets dark, Greg and the boys start lighting all the big "pretties". So much fun!
4. Do you have a family member that is serving our country?
No, but I'm so grateful for all those that do.
5. Do you dress in red, white, or blue on the fourth?
Of course! I made all the grandkids t-shirts to wear this year.

Safari Photo Album

A friend of mine has a new grandbaby that she lovingly calls "Chunky Monkey". She loves anything safari and ask me to redo her photo album.

That's what I started with and kind of flew by the seat of my pants for this one.

I've never tried anything like this before, but I thought I should cover the end first.

I didn't cut the paper, just mod podged on the front and back.

Then I wrapped it around to the insides. That paper really looks wrinkly there, it wasn't that bad!

I also covered the inside of the front cover so it would look more finished.

I added ribbon to cover the seam and embellished with stickers. I gave her the pack of stickers I had leftover to add to the pages as she filled it.

Happy Monday!

Super Saturday

Wow, what a week! It literally took me over a week to finally figure out how to get a Facebook page for A Creative Princess. I'm sure not the sharpest crayon in the box when it comes to all this techno stuff! Anyway, I'm up and running now and would love if you liked me! The Like Box is on my sidebar. I sound pathetic, don't I?

Enough of that, on to the fun stuff!! Here are our most viewed links this week to "It's a Party".

PVC Pipe Flag

I needed something to hang on the front door for the 4th of July and this was probably the easiest thing I've ever made.

So simple to turn out so cute (if I say so myself)!

I just took PVC pipe and cut it into ten 12" pieces.

Then I mod-podged scrapbook paper on them.

Hot glue them all together and wrap with pretty fabric. For the hanger, I took the strip of fabric and thread it through the top pipe.

I'll be linking to these fun parties this week.

Papa's Day

Father's Day is so bittersweet for me. I love Greg with all my heart and he is such a great "Papa". My son, Josh, is just like him! Greg and I must have done something right in our lives to raise such a beautiful son and father to his children. We are so proud of that little guy!! Yesterday was bittersweet because I'm happy for Greg and Josh, but miss my Daddy horribly! I really wish God would let him have a cell phone for one day so I can hear his voice just one more time. Love you, Daddy!

Greg is Papa to the kids and grandchildren. It's funny, I can't imagine them calling him anything else! I wanted to make him something special, so I told everybody to give me one word to describe Papa.

I wrote that and printed it.

Then I went to Wordle and put in all the words the kids had given me.
I did have to shrink it a bunch to fit the little frame.

I wanted Greg to know what everyone said, so I mod-podged it and put it on the back.

Needless to say, he loved it!

I'm sure Greg had a bittersweet Father's Day, too. It's 98 degrees here in Missouri. We went to Jace's T-Ball game at 2:30 and came home to NO air conditioning! Yep, it finally died! We'll be buying a new furnace and air conditioner today!

Today is the last day to enter the 500 Follower Giveaway.
The winner will by announced tomorrow.

For the Golfer.

This whole little project all started because of a wine cork.

All I could see when I looked at that cork was a golf ball!

I found grass scrapbook paper and mod-podged it on a $1.00 frame from Michaels.

I put a little piece of turf on the cardboard piece from the frame.

I painted the top of the cork white.

Now I needed a golf bag. Look how icky that prescription bottle looks. I didn't get the label off real well. They don't come off so easy!

I painted the bottle black and then wrapped it in leather. I added a small leather cord for the strap and buttons for wheels.

I took pens and put silver paper down in them and wrapped the end in electrician tape.

That simple little cork sitting in my kitchen turned into quite a project, but I love how it turned out. Greg has it sitting on his desk now, so it was all worth it!

I'll be linking Here this week.
