I used another one of those $1.00 wooden frames from Michael's and found the paper at Hobby Lobby to mod-podge on. I thought Greg might like a little reminder each day!

Valentine Kisses

This started out to be a wreath to hang, but is going to be used for something entirely different. I'll tell you what at the end of this post. How was that for a shameless way to get you to stick around?!

It was so simple, I just took a heavy piece of cardboard cut into a heart and painted it red.

Then just start gluing Kisses on one by one. Not that you would know any dummy that would actually try to use a hot glue gun to glue them on, but if you did, that said dummy would have to start all over because the hot glue melts the chocolate into a big fat mess! She should have used Tacky Glue the first time and then she wouldn't have had to do everything twice!

Because I was going to hang it on the refrigerator, I put magnet strips on the back.

It looked so cute on the fridge, the colors just popped!

Here's why it's not still hanging there. Triniti (she's 6) saw it and said, "Grandma, you should wrap it in red paper and put it in a pizza box and I can give it to my teacher.". Done! That's where it's going! I'm just so stinkin' proud of that little creative angel! (Why didn't I think of that?!)

I'm off to Pizza Hut to see if they'll give me a small pizza box.

I'm so darn frustrated, I'm ready to party! The gadget I found and installed to number comments was working perfectly. Now it's not! How does this happen? Is anyone else having this problem and does anybody know how to number comments without messing with the whole template?

I should just quit worrying about it but things like this drive me crazy!!

This ain't gonna be pretty!

Okay, so here it is, the post showing you the pictures of my old craft room and the future new craft room. These are all before pictures and I'll only show them if you promise me 2 things. First, don't hate me when you see the messes! Second, you have to promise to NEVER call the producers of Hoarders on me!

This is what my craft room looked like before Christmas when I was frantically trying to get everything I was making finished up.

I warned you! The funny thing is, I knew exactly where everything was that I needed. I knew it was bad when I mentioned to Greg that I wanted to move my craft room to the dormer and he jumped on the idea!

Here's the problem, the dormer became a dumping ground before Christmas, too!

This dormer was originally Josh's room and when he got married, we put in a pool table. Now that Brandon is gone, it's become a catch all for everything! To make matters worse, I hid all the Christmas presents and wrapped up there.

Greg was so excited to get me and my messes moved upstairs, he went to Home Depot and bought shelves for the closet and started putting them in (while I was cleaning out the room).

After many hours of cleaning, sorting, and trips to drop boxes off at Goodwill, it's finally a clean slate for me to work with.

There is still so much to do, but at least now I have something to work with. Greg told me he would get the pool table out of there, but actually, I want it to stay. I'm going to cover it with my cutting mats and think it will be such a great surface to work on.

All the Miller Lite decor will be replaced with sunflowers. And yes, Roy Williams and Chad Johnson are coming off the walls, although my kids told me to leave them so I would have someone to talk to when I'm up there!

I've started moving things up, but it's taking such a long time because I'm sorting and organizing everything. This is so much work (more than I imagined), but what a reward when it's finished!

I'll keep you updated.

Fleece Blanket

I know we've all made the tied ends fleece blankets in probably every color and print you can imagine. They're so fun and so easy and so comfy, you just can't not make another one.

This is one I made for Jace, but look at the edges! I found the greatest tutorial at Helping Little Hands and just love it!

You braid the ends instead of tying them. When you click on her link, it takes you to doing a braided blanket with 2 pieces of fleece (which I want to try next), but there's also a link in that post to using one piece.

I really think it makes a much cleaner edge and a lot easier on the fingers than tying.

No More Ugly Lamp!

That's right, the ugly lamp is finally gone!

No, not that one.

That one! You know the one, you need a lamp in a small space on a small table and you grab the first thing you can find in the basement because you saved it to do something with it one day and you set it there and never got around to changing it...

until you finally get sick of seeing it show up in all the photos! That one!

I actually got sick of looking at it one day and grabbed that can of paint.

It was warm here last week so I ran outside and painted. I couldn't believe how well it covered the metal!

I was going to put fabric over the shade, but I really did like the texture and the flowers that were on it. The flowers and leaves were just too light so I thought maybe the paint would work on the shade, too. Guess what, it did!

Okay, that's better, but a little blah.

I added some jute to the shade and

also to the base.

Much better!

When it's lit at night, the flowers and leaves still show through, but darker. They look kind of light there in the picture, but really they're not.

Yep, the ugly lamp is gone and I'm one happy girl!
