Sunflower Washer Necklace

Tell the truth, you all knew at some point a sunflower necklace idea was going to pop out of my head, didn't you?

This has to be my all time favorite! (How many times have I said that?)

When we were in Florida, I found those necklaces. I saw washers.

I had to show this picture because that's what my family does to me when we're out and I stop to take a picture of something I know I can make. Look at Brandon who walked away, but is looking back because he can't believe his mom is actually doing that! Love you, Brandon!

Where were we? Oh yeah, I had that sunflower paper and cut it to the size of the washers I used.

Mod-podged the paper on and added Dimensional Magic.

And wired everything together. I know I've told you before, but I always glue the washers down where I want them before I start wrapping the wire. It makes it so much easier.

I'm working on a bigger necklace that's more like the ones in the picture, but for now, this little guy is making me happy!

Just when I was so proud of myself for getting inspiration for making something from a gift shop at Disney World, I found this on Pinterest from Ronnie's Little Buds & Petals Homemade Gifts.
It must be true, great minds think alike!

Happy Friday!

These are the parties I join each week.

Disney Earrings

I don't scrapbook, but I love going into the scrapbooking shop we have here in town. They have so many cute things besides paper!

I found those brads and used a couple of them on something else and had these left over.

I snipped the brad part off and glued the earring post on with E-6000.

Takes about 5 minutes and you've got...

two pairs of earrings!

Today is the last day to enter the giveaway for the awesome Black Shard book. Don't forgot to enter if you haven't already. 4 winners!!

Where did the weekend go?

Wow! I totally blew off this poor little blog all weekend! Between ball games, car shows, and working in the backyard to get it ready for the new hot tub being delivered today (yippee!!), I never had a chance to sit down on this computer!

With the holiday coming up, you know what that means, bring out the liquor bottles!

The empty ones, that is.

That blue bottle was just screaming something patriotic.

I actually found little red, white, and blue lights this year. I searched everywhere last year for them and never found any. I found the lights and streamer stuff (official name) at Hobby Lobby and...

those at the Dollar Store.

Then it's just a matter of stuffing everything in the bottle. I know you can't see them in the picture, but the lights are awesome in there with the streamers!

If you haven't entered the Giveaway for The Black Shard book, be sure and do so.

Remember, there will be 4 winners!

Have a great week!

Rustic Star

As I was walking to the backyard last week from the front, I looked at the gate and thought it looked awfully lonely.

It needed a little something for the 4th of July, too!

I lucked into that little beauty one day at Hobby Lobby on sale for $5.00.

I originally was going to use 10 pieces of paper to cover it, but it was much easier using 5 and folding it.

Then just start mod-podging each piece on.

I probably could have added ribbon or something else, but I loved the simplicity of it.

I hung it a little high but I didn't want one of the kiddo's to run into the sharp points on it when they're out there playing.

Happy Friday!

Sponsor Love, a Review, & a Giveaway!

How's that for a bunch of fun-filled goodness all in one post?!

Victoria Simcox has done it again with her 2nd novel, The Black Shard, in her Magic Warble series! I honestly didn't think she would be able to top her first book, The Magic Warble, but she did, in all it's enchanting glory!

Let me tell you a little about this amazing author.

Victoria was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, to an Austrian immigrant mother, and a Dutch immigrant father. She now lives in Western Washington with her husband, Russ and their three children, Toby, Kristina, and William. Her other family members are a Chihuahua, named Pipsy and two cats, named Frodo and Fritz. Besides being an author, Victoria is a home-schooling mother of twelve years and an elementary school art teacher of eleven years. In her spare time, Victoria enjoys managing her two older children's Celtic band. She also loves writing, reading, painting watercolors, hiking, good movies, and just simply hanging out with her family and friends.

The Black Shard continues with the journey of Kristina & Werrien in the magical land of Bernovem. Victoria's novels are aimed for middle school age kids, but I've got to tell you, I couldn't put it down! It keeps you intrigued from the very first chapter to the last. I can't wait for her next book!

If you have children or grandchildren, what a perfect gift for them! If not, do yourself a favor and pick up this book to have an enchanting afternoon!

Victoria is so generous to offer to one lucky A Creative Princess readers a hard copy of The Black Shard. This hard copy is for US residents only.

But, don't worry, if you live outside the US, she's offering three lucky international winners copies of her e-books!

That's right, there will be 4 winners!! Doesn't get much better than that!

Fireworks Necklace

The 4th of July is always a big deal around our house. Besides just being the 4th of July with all the fireworks and grilling, it's also Greg's Birthday. I'm working on shirts for the kids and took a break to start making necklaces for them.

One down, 7 to go!

I noticed this paper had fireworks on it and it fit the glass tile perfectly.

I cut the paper to fit the tile.

I would normally use Mod-Podge, but I had a bottle of this Diamond Glaze and wanted to try it out.

You really can't tell there, but you brush the glaze on the front of the paper and stick it to the back of the tile. Make sure you really stick it so there are no air bubbles.

Then add another coat of glaze to the back of the paper, making sure you get the edges good. Once dried, add a bail.

That's all there is to it! Go for it!

Have a great week!
