Dolly Basket/Bed

I made this Dolly Bed for Jordyn a couple of Easter's ago for her Easter basket and this year I wanted to do something just a little different for Triniti and Tierni.

Pretend you can see double as you read this post because there are actually 2 of them that I made. They're both exactly the same (because Heaven forbid that one of them have something that the other doesn't) but I figured you didn't want to see double of everything.

I found two of these little baskets when they were half off.

Because I was making two of them at once and I was lazy that day, I didn't line the whole inside. I added fabric around the top and added ribbon and buttons to cutify it.

Then made a mattress and pillow.

And, of course, a blanket.

Next trip was to Target for new dolly's (complete with high chair and potty chair).

And the best thing of all, these will be their Easter baskets that I fill for them on Easter.

Is it just me or does that poor little bunny look awfully sad?

It's a Party! #99

I'm so sorry I didn't get features up this morning. I had an early doctor's appointment and thought I had the post scheduled, but obviously, I didn't.

I had to meet with a hand surgeon because I've got trigger finger in my right hand. My middle finger, when I bend it, stays bent in and locks and I've got to take my other hand and pop it back. Greg keeps telling me that at least it's bending down and not up!

She said today that it's a pretty severe case and scheduled surgery for Monday. Can that be good? Surgery on April Fool's Day?

Hey, here's a way for me to quit thinking and worrying about it. Let's have a party!

Link up anything you want to share with us this week. It can be your fabulous craft, yummy recipe, giveaway, shop, etc.

I'll feature the Top 5 most viewed links next Wednesday.

I would love for you to follow A Creative Princess while you're here!

If you would like to grab an It's a Party button (on the sidebar) and post it on your blog somewhere, that would be great! Let's get the word out and grow this party.

Our New Bathroom & TP Holder

It's official, my blog has gone to the toilet!

I told you how Greg is in a major remodeling mood right now and I've got to say, this was probably the hardest project we've ever done!

We completely gutted the little bathroom that is off of our bedroom and put in everything brand new, including all the tile and bead board on the floor and walls.

The lowest estimate we had for this tiny room was $2500.00. You've got to be kidding! We did it ourselves for about $900.00 and that included everything. Like I said, it was hard work, but so well worth it!

I still need to paint the new door and frame and decorate the walls, but for the most part, it's done.

After all the hard work, there was no way I was going to let Greg drill or glue on that new tile for something so silly as a toilet paper holder.

I knew I had a basket with handles, so I grabbed it and...

bought a huge dowel, cut it to size, painted and added jute in the middle of it.

The dowel slips through the holes under the handles and the paper goes in the middle.

The best feature, the bottom of the basket stores extra rolls so you're never left stranded. (I think you now what I mean.)

Now, sung in my best Taylor Swift voice:

At least until we move on to the the big bathroom, which is next on our list.

A Few Last Minute Easter Ideas

Can you believe Easter is this Sunday? Wasn't it just Christmas yesterday? This week I've got to concentrate on getting baskets filled and what we're having for dinner on Sunday.

I found the cutest idea for the big kids.

How cute is that Edible Easter Basket from One Good Thing?!
(I'm going to the store today to buy Peeps.)

And I can fill it with this...

Bunny Money like Crafty Journal made.

For Jalynn, Jordyn, and Jace, I bought these totes at Hobby Lobby along with the fabric paint and markers to decorate it later with however they want.

I always try to come with an "Easter basket" that is actually something they can hang on to and use.

This was the dolly basket that I made for Jordyn a couple of years ago for Easter.

I'm working on a couple more for Triniti and Tierni this year.
(They're a little different and I'll show them to you on Friday.)

One thing for sure we're having Sunday are these Resurrection Rolls.
Eat at Allie's has all the details.
What an awesome idea!

Of course, I'll have to make these Easter Chicks from A Thrifty Mom.

Enough chit chat, I've got to get to work!
What last minute things are you doing this week?

Have an awesome Monday!

Adjustable Headbands

The girls and I saw these at a craft show last September and well, it's only taken me about 6 months to finally get some made for them.

They are so quick and easy to make, I have no idea why it took me so long to finally make them!

With all the girls in the family with so many different size heads, these are perfect for everyone because they can adjust to every size.

You start with one 14 1/2" velvet ribbon and one 15 1/2" regular ribbon. I used 5/8" wide ribbon.

Fold the ends of the decorated ribbon in (1/2" on each end) and sew to the velvet ribbon, wrong sides together along both long sides. Leave the ends open.

I found these slides & rings at JoAnn's.

Cut a 2 1/2" piece of ribbon that is 1/4" wide and put it through the ring and slip it into one side of the ribbon between the two layers and sew across the end.

Okay, this isn't as complicated as I'm making it out to be, but I stink at explaining things, I'm better just showing. But here goes:

1. Cut an 8" piece of 3/8" elastic and fold it over the center bar of the slide and sew.
2 & 3. Take the other end of the elastic and bring it over where you just sewed (to cover it up) and slip it through the slide.
4. Then bring it through the other side.

It should look like this.

Take the other end and sew it between the layers of the end of the ribbon.

That's all there is to it!

Hey, girly girls, they're finally done!

Happy Friday!

Hit's of the Party!

Happy Spring! And yes, it's snowing here today, but that doesn't matter, it's still officially Spring.

There were so many fun ideas linked up last week. Here are your Top 5:

Deby from So Sew Easy shared a ton of Cute Easter Sewing Ideas. The Baby Bunny Hat is adorable!

These Crochet Wired Flowers from Ana Love Craft are absolutely amazing!

This Spring Mantel at Shabby Love really needs to be in my house!

I'm pretty sure the little kiddo's and I will be making these Rockin' Peeps that Crafty Journal shared.
(I've got a confession. I love Peeps!)

Oh how I would love this Mustard Yellow Desk from Sunflower Hugs in my craft room!
I adore that blog name!!

Have a happy day, everyone, and I'll see you all back here later this afternoon for this week's party.

A Little Bling for the Boys of Summer

Update: These Baseball Washers are now available in my Etsy shop.
You can find them Here.

We are a baseball family. When the boys were little, we spent all of our summers at the field. Josh went on to play baseball in college and Greg, Josh and Brandon were all on a softball team together for the longest time until Greg got too old to play. (Sorry, honey.)

Now it's little Jace's turn. I think that's the main reason summer is my favorite time of year.

Because this year Jace has his Dad and Uncle Brandon helping coach his team and his Papa will be pacing along the fence, I figured the least we girls could do was to add a little bling in the stands.

Their games start soon, so I've got to get busy working on our summer accessories.

First up, the Baseball Washer Necklace.

I did the basic mod-podging and adding Dimensional Magic, but I also needed a bail on the back. It's upside down because I wanted to hang a charm in the middle.

I hung the baseball charm to the bail and added the leather cord.

Hang on, summer, we're almost ready! Just a few more things to make.
Oh, and I need to stock up on sunflower seeds and pistachio's!
