It's a Party! #130

Welcome, my friends!

It's actually double party day for me. We're going to Brandon & Christina's house tonight for a BYOP (bring your own pumpkin) party. Everybody is bringing their own pumpkin and we're all going to carve or in my case, paint them there. Doesn't that sound like fun?!

I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to post on Instagram. With the help of Christina and my grandchildren, I finally got on board with this whole Instagram craze. I think they all were about ready to put me away when they were trying to show me how to work it. It's not hard, I just hate learning all these new things!

Anyway, I'm Terri Weems if you want to have a good laugh while I'm trying to post pictures on there.
(I hope to have a link button soon.)

Now for the reason you're here (although if you want to bring your pumpkin tonight and join us, you're more than welcome).

Link up anything you want to share with us this week. It can be your fabulous craft, yummy recipe, giveaway, shop, etc.

I'll feature the Top 5 most viewed links next Wednesday.

I would love for you to follow A Creative Princess while you're here!

If you would like to grab an It's a Party button (on the sidebar) and post it on your blog somewhere, that would be great! Let's get the word out and grow this party.
The more the merrier!

We all love comments, so please visit other links and have fun!

Trick or Treat Bag

The big candy day is almost here and the little kiddo's are going to need something to carry all that candy in.

I whipped a couple of these bags in less than an hour, thanks to...

this awesome panel fabric from Wholeport.

I cut out 2 panels from the fabric for each bag and ironed stabilizer to the back.
Cut 2 lining pieces the same size.

Sew your main pieces together on 3 sides, leaving the top open.

Sew the lining pieces together the same way, but leaving an opening on the bottom for turning later.

Before we put the main bag and lining together, sew your handles to both sides on, close to the edge at the top.
Because the bag could get heavy as it fills up, I sewed back and forth on the handle 3 or 4 times.

With the main bag turned right side out, insert it down into the lining.
Make sure your handles are down and out of the way.

Sew both pieces together at the top.

Turn the bag right side out through the opening in the bottom of the lining.
Press and sew the opening shut.

Push the lining down in the bag and topstitch around the top edge.

And it's all ready to fill up for that infamous sugar high on Halloween night!

The best part?

It's just as cute on the back as it is on the front!

Halloween Bling

I thought the little girls needed some Halloween Bling to wear and started digging in what I had in the craft room.

As you can see, I found paracord and beads. Yep, that will work.

For the candy corn colored one, I added beads and tied a regular knot.

For the orange and black bead necklace, I used a knot that I remembered from making at Bible Camp when I was probably 10 years old.
(Why is it that I can't remember what I went to the grocery store for, but I can remember how to tie a knot from many years ago?!)

I searched everywhere to try and find out the name of the knot for you and finally found it Here
By the way, she made awesome necklaces using paracord and that knot!

Again, the "Bible Camp" knot with two strands of paracord and the beaded one, the regular knot.

Happy Monday!

Fall/Halloween Fireplace Mantel

Wooden Hoop Style

Or maybe I should say, "The last minute quick and easy way."!

I realized last week that I had no decorations up, except a wreath on the front door, and it was time to get busy.

I had this awesome burlap and wooden hoops.
(I get my hoops from Wholeport.)

It took maybe 5 minutes to make 4 of these.

And another 5 minutes to hang them.
See? Quick and easy!

(Folded Star Pumpkin in the middle is Here.)

The kiddo's were here and decorated a few little gourds that I had.

Ignore all the food laying around. It was Chiefs Sunday here.

Have a fab-Boo-lous day!

It's a Party! #129

Hi and welcome to the party!

Before we get started, I want to remind you that I'm looking for food guest posts to start once a week in November through December.

If you're interested in sharing one of your favorite holiday recipes (anything you would like), please let me know by leaving a comment and I'll get in touch with you and get it scheduled. Also, this doesn't have to be a new post, you can share a recipe that you've done in the past.

Did you see the awesome Halloween features this morning? If you missed them, they're Here.

Link up anything you want to share with us this week. It can be your fabulous craft, yummy recipe, giveaway, shop, etc.

Got a great recipe that you want to share?

I know it sounds crazy and hard to believe, but the holiday's are right around the corner.

We all know that I'm not a food blogger and because I'm not, I thought it would be fun to highlight your favorite recipe's starting in November through December.

If you would like to do a food guest post during this time and share one of your favorite recipe's, please leave me a comment and I'll get in touch with you.

It can be anything you like (appetizers, main course, side dishes, desserts, etc.) and I will post one recipe each week through December.

If this is something you would be interested in doing, please leave me a comment and I'll get in touch with you and we can get it scheduled.

Because I don't like doing a post without pictures, I'll leave you with these little cuties.

My "little" grandpuppies that I was babysitting last weekend.

Halloween Costumes

Have you seen all the cute family costumes on Pinterest lately? I love when a whole family comes to the door dressed up!

Here's a few of my favorites:

Just in case you need an extra dose of cuteness this morning, check out these adorable Pet Costumes!

Our Gage would never let me dress him up, but I sure wish he would play nice and let me!

Happy Monday!

Tide Container to Pumpkin Candy Dish

I know that's not a very catchy title, but...

that's exactly what it is.

The last time I bought laundry detergent, I had to buy the Tide Pods because that container looked so much like a pumpkin to me. (Yes, my husband thinks I'm a little nuts!)

I soaked it in hot water and got the top part of the label off, then used Goof Off to get rid of the rest of the sticky stuff.

Can you tell I was washing little pumpkins at the same time? Perfect for holding it down in the hot water.

First she needed a face.

And a little surprise when you open the lid.

I popped the lid off and glued burlap (with a little stuffing), jute, and a sunflower to it.

Aww...isn't she cute?

Now I need to buy a lock and have Greg hide the key from me so I stay out of it!

Happy Friday!
