Mason Jar Utensil Holder

In 5 minutes or less!

Seriously, that's all it's going to take.
5 minutes.

I had the burlap and ruffle ribbon and had never used it. It was time.

Ignore, the small burlap ribbon, I decided to use jute instead.

It's just a matter of gluing the ribbons on and adding a cute little wood button.
Tie a piece of jute around the top and you're done.

It's perfect for the spatula and spoons that I found on sale one day at Kohl's.
They deserve better than the messy drawer they would have gone in.

Have a great holiday weekend!

Hits of the Party!

Happy Hump Day!

There were so many great ideas linked up at last week's party!

Here are a few of your favorites:

Garden Hose Wreath

I really need this on my deck!

Easy Spinach and Artichoke Dip

I could take a bite of that chip right now! Definitely making this!

Photo Frame Jewelry Holder

I've been wanting to do this for years. This is the perfect inspiration to get started!

Garlic Cheese Breadsticks

This is what I always order from Papa John's. Now I can make my own!

Pot Handle Hot Pad Grip

This is brilliant! And so simple to do.

Thank you to everyone who linked up and I'll be back later today to get this week's party started.

Crochet Coasters

I don't know about you, but coasters seem to disappear around here as much as socks do.

I've got a quick and easy "go-to" pattern to crochet up a couple when you need them.

I got the pattern from Rachel at Adventures of a DIY Mom and it was really a hotpad pattern. Thank you, Rachel, for sharing it!

I've made a couple of hotpad's and loved the way it all came together so quickly, so I thought, why not a coaster, too?

I did it the exact same way, but instead of starting with a chain of 42, I only did 24.

I guessed on the 24, but the size turned out perfect!

I used cotton yarn and it seemed to work the best. Less fluffy.

Have a happy Monday!

Honeymoon Tote with Matching Wristlet

I told you the other day about Christina's bridal shower last Sunday (Here, if you missed it).

I thought it would be fun to show you one of the gifts I made for her.

She and Brandon are going to a beach resort in Mexico for their honeymoon so I made her a tote and matching wristlet/clutch to keep her phone, room key, and any other small items in.

I made the tote the same way I did my Pleather Tote. You can find the tutorial Here.

Before I sewed the whole thing together, I appliqued the MRS on using the hot pink lining fabric and added the rhinestone heart for the period.

After I finished the tote bag, I thought she really needed the wristlet to match. She can either take it with her to the beach in the bag, or use it alone.

The tutorial is the same as my Mickey Mouse Clutch and you can find it Here.

Have a fabulous Friday!

It's a Party! #172

Welcome to the party!

We're getting right to the party today because I'm in the middle of making 20 boutonniere's for the wedding. We really only need 16, but I'm not taking a chance of anything and making a few extra's. Just in case. It's fun, but you can't see my kitchen table right now.

That's what I'm up to, what have you been working on?

The Bridal Shower

Jennifer (our daughter-in-law) and Kendall (Christina's friend), aka Matron and Maid of Honor, gave her the most amazing bridal shower last Sunday!

We all had such a great time and I know Christina loved every minute of it.

I'll show you a closer look of that table in the lower right corner a little later in the post.

Let's start with a couple of the games we played.

Brandon came up from his Sports Cave where he was watching football to participate in this one. (Yep, that's my boy, such a good kid!) They sat back to back each holding the other's shoe and had to answer questions about each other. If Christina thought it was about Brandon, she held up his shoe and Brandon did the same with hers.

They were fun questions like:

Who stands in front of the mirror the longest?
Who says "I'm sorry" first after an argument?
Who does most of the cooking?

There were a lot more, but they were like those type.

We played a toilet paper game where 2 people would dress the 3rd person in the prettiest bridal gown using the toilet paper and tape. So much fun and laughs!!

Remember that entry table I told you about in the first photo?
Here's a closer look of what all was on that.

That is one of Brandon & Christina's engagement photo's that we all wrote a little something for them when we came in on the photo mat that it was in.

Besides all the wonderful company, I haven't even mentioned the food. We had all the great food and awesome drink you could ask for.

One of the biggest hits were the cupcakes that Jennifer made.

Look at those cupcakes!! She made and decorated them all herself. That icing really is shiny and delicious!

Oh, and she also made the cake stand out of 2 plates and a wine glass.

(I'm thinking she should probably be taking over this little blog of mine.)

It truly was a beautiful day!

Jennifer and Kendall, you both did an amazing job. Thank you!

Christina, we already consider you family, but I can't wait for the day that you become an "official" Weems. Papa and I love you, Sweetheart!

Oh, and if you are still reading and made it to the end of this post, you're awesome!!

Crochet Puppy Hat

I've never crocheted anything like this before, but Christina requested it and I gave it a try.

She is growing her photography business, Sole Inspired Photography, and is always looking for new props.

She found the pattern for me at Repeat crafter Me and I was a little intimidated at first, but decided to dive right in and go for it. I'm so glad I did! The pattern was easy to follow and I actually breezed right through it.

Repeat crafter Me has a lot of fun and free crochet patterns that I can't wait to try out.

I need to do a whole post on Christina's props that she uses. In the meantime, you can see some of her beautiful pictures HERE.

It's a Party! #171

Welcome to the party and thank you for joining us!

Today is a bittersweet day for me. I've had so much fun with my grandkids all summer and today they went back to school. I'm so happy for them and know how excited they are, but I miss them already! I guess it's back to work time for me now, too.

It's not like I'll be sitting around doing nothing. Brandon and Christina's wedding is in less than 2 months and I have tons to get accomplished before then! I should have lots to share with you between now and then. We got the invitations all finished last weekend. Christina did an awesome job designing and printing them and I tied the bows on. Hey, don't laugh. That bow was pretty important, too! Oh yeah, and Brandon punched the holes in all of them for me to put the ribbon through. (He said I was taking too long.)

Are you all ready to party this week? Let's get it started!
