Because of Thanksgiving this week, we're starting our party a little early. I know everyone is very busy and spending time with family, so I'll be leaving the party open from now through Sunday.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Pluck the Turkey Game

I saw This free printable the other day on Pinterest and I was going to print it out to play with the kids on Thanksgiving Day.

Then, of course, I changed my mind and made my own little turkey with feathers.

It's played like Hangman only instead of drawing the stick figure when you miss a letter, you pluck a feather from the turkey.

I used paint samples that I had for the feathers.

I glued buttons and felt on for his face and the feathers just stick in so that they can be "plucked" out.

Right now he's just hanging out until Thanksgiving waiting to lose his feathers, but at least he won't be in the oven like his friend will!

Bottle Cap Reindeer Necklace

I was searching on Etsy the other day for sports logo images for bottle caps (another project in the works) and in all the mix was a snowman image.

How does that happen? Sports. Snowman?

Anyway, it gave me an idea and I went to the craft room to look for a snowman sticker in my stash.

I didn't find a snowman, but found a reindeer instead.

I took the cute little guy and cut him up.

Before I did anything else, I took the 3 bottle caps and punched holes in them, making sure that the holes were in the sides and not in the bottom of the caps. I put the sticker pieces in with Mod-Podge and then added Dimensional Magic, which is why you can't have your holes too close to the bottom or it would run out.

I connected the caps with jump rings and glued on a bail and the reindeer is back together.

I still don't know what sports and a snowman have in common, but now we've got a reindeer.

Here's a look back at a few of your top hits from last week's party.

Ornament Earrings

How about 2 pairs of earrings in just a matter of minutes?

However long it takes you to add a jump ring is the only amount of time you'll spend making these.

The best part? You can pick both of these things up at Hobby Lobby for half off.
Two pairs of earrings for $3.50!

The ornaments come with the ring already in the cork so all you have to do is add a jump ring and attach to the earring part.

Feel like red? Wear the red ornaments.
Feel like green? Wear the green.

Or...

one of each.

Not bad for $3.50, huh?

Snowman Washer Earrings

Do you remember this little guy that I made a couple of years ago?

A couple of weeks ago, Lisa, who is co-president of the South Jersey Bead Society contacted me and ask if she could use this as inspiration to make earrings.

First I thanked her for asking and then absolutely gave her my permission. Not that she would need my permission, but it meant the world to me that she was kind enough to even ask. I did tell her that I would love to see a photo after they had finished.

Aren't they adorable?!

She used smaller washers and lots of beads to "bling" them up. I love them!

They taught 4 patterns for earrings (the snowman being one of them) that day for an earring swap that they have at their holiday party. How fun!

Tomorrow I'll be showing you the earrings I made over the weekend that only took a few minutes to make.

Have a warm Monday!
We're supposed to have record cold temps today. I'll be here hibernating.

Glammed Up Pumpkin Centerpiece

After I made my Bandana Tablecloth last week and even though it's not your traditional fall colors, I thought it still needed something fit for the season.

So I glammed up a few pumpkins for a centerpiece.

I had this bag of small pumpkins that I probably bought last year and didn't use.
(Or the the year before, or the year before that...)

Then I went to town with paint, ribbon and (I'm going to regret this) glitter.

I'm so happy with how it looks now, the colors are bright and cheery.

The tablecloth post is Here.

It's a Party! #184

Welcome to the party!

It's suddenly turning into winter around here and even snowed a little a couple of days ago. The only good thing about this cold weather is that I'm staying in and actually getting a few things done. Don't be too impressed, I'm not getting much done, but a little. I need to start thinking about Thanksgiving. Can you believe it's only 2 weeks away?

Here are a few things that have been going on around here since we partied last week.

and of course, the Fabulous Features this morning.

Now it's time for you to show off what you've been doing.
Let's get this party started!

Hits of the Party!

It's Wednesday and we all know what that means. It's the day that we look back at just a few of the awesome links from last week's It's a Party.

Upcycled T-Shirt Bag

This is one great idea! I've made quilts before but never thought of a tote bag.
Love it!

Vintage Window Poster Frame

Oh, how I love old windows!

Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes

You can bet your sweet cupcake that I'll be making these! Yum!

Christmas Window Display

Great minds must really think alike. I decided a couple of weeks ago that I wanted to do this in all the windows going across the front of our house. Heather actually did it while I'm still thinking about it.

Feta & Spinach Muffins

Oh my gosh, these sound so delicious!

Thank you to everyone who linked up last week.
I'll be back later this afternoon to get this week's party started.
See you then.

Bandana Tablecloth

There were plenty of other things I should have been doing last week, but as I walked through the living/dining room, I decided it was too dark and needed to be lightened up a little before the Christmas decorations took over.
(Was that not the longest sentence ever?)

I walked upstairs, pushed everything that I should be working on out of my way, and came back down with a new tablecloth. All it took was 6 bandanas.

Okay, who thinks I should have been an architect?

I used a full bandana down the middle and halves on both sides.
They were 22".

I sewed the three (1 whole and a half on each side) pieces together first and then sewed the three rows together.

Make sure you iron your seams flat.

I normally would have sewed a back on but because I'm only using it until Thanksgiving, I didn't, but may go back after Christmas and add it.

The sun was shining bright that day, but that room sometimes seems so dark and this little tablecloth really adds a pop of color.
(Hi Gage!)

Just in case you're wondering:

The lamp on the table is Here.
The W Burlap Monogram is Here.
The Button Cornucopia is Here.
The Mary Poppins Canvas (on the piano) is Here.

and

The Barn Tin Walls are Here.

Well, look at that, I really do keep around some of the things I make!
