Embroidered Golf Shirts

You've probably already figured this out, but I'm obsessed with my new embroidery machine.

Greg was recently in a charity golf tournament and I jumped on the idea of making him and his team golf shirts.

I was so scared of this new machine for quite awhile, but with all the classes I've been taking, it's getting more and more comfortable each time I use it. There's so much to learn.

There was just one small problem with the shirts. It was hot and humid that day and the shirts don't breathe. Oops! At least those 3 looked good for a minute and thought to snap a picture as they headed to the clubhouse to buy new golf shirts.

Have a great weekend!

Fun with Foam Visors

The weather here in Missouri is so predictable this summer. If it's not raining, it's 100 degrees and humid. If it's not 100 degrees and humid, it's raining. What I'm trying to say is that pretty much every day is a bad hair day. I've decided it's better to just give up and go with pony tail and visor.

You can find foam visors in craft stores now so cheap. I picked both the black one and white glitter up for a quarter each.

I went with machine embroidery on mine, but you could totally do this with paint or vinyl.

This is my favorite, with the glitter.

Bad hair day? Bring it on, I'm ready!

Here are some more fun ideas to do with the visors that I found on Pinterest.

Wine Cork Minion Necklace

Last week Greg and I took all the kiddo's to see The Minions.
If you haven't seen it yet, it's a great movie!

Triniti and Tierni thought they should probably have necklaces to wear, so we got busy with wine corks.

They started by painting the corks yellow.

We used vinyl for the glasses and eyes using 3 different sizes of paper punches and layering it all on.

They added the smile with permanent markers and I sealed everything using Mod Podge.

When I screwed the eye hook in the top, I did add a little E-6000 glue to make sure it didn't pop out.

Have an awesome weekend!

DIY Table Runner & Pot Holders

Our daughter in law, Jennifer, needed new simple kitchen curtains. She bought the fabric she wanted and I whipped them up for her. I forgot all about taking any photos, but, I did take pictures of what I made with the leftover fabric.

There was about 16" of the width of the fabric left and I was able to make matching pot holders and a table runner out of it.

I cut 8" off the length to save for the back of the pot holders and used the rest for the table runner. Using matching fabric for the back, I sewed the two pieces right sides together leaving an opening for turning.

Turn, press, and top stitch, and you've got yourself a table runner in about 10 minutes.

I used the rest of the leftover that I had cut off with coordinating scraps to make 2 pot holders. The tutorial for that pot holder is here.

The scraps that I found for the top are from Clothworks that I used in these pillows.

It's hard to believe that a bunch of scrap fabric could all match so perfectly.
Every once in awhile, I get lucky.

Have a great weekend!
